Hallowed Camp #16 – Cartier-Bresson

I could have chosen from many HCB’s pictures. Looking at his work with my Dad in the 1960s and 1970s was partly what got me into photography. I never stop learning from him – the ability to capture the moment through composition.

I particularly like this picture because of the juxtapositioin of the workers to the posters, with Stalin watching over all, even Lenin. Stalin had died in the year before Cartier-Bresson took this picture.
