Hallowed Camp #10 – Sudek

The ‘hallowed camp’ is a collection of photographs that I return to on occasion. In the words of the Eagles, these photographs ‘can check out any time … but can never leave’. Here is the tenth picture from the series, this one by Josef Sudek.

La Derniére Rose, Josef Sudek, 1956

In a way I see Sudek as being the Atget of Prague. Where he differed was in his experimentation across many photographic media. His appreciation of natural light in all its forms is a thing to wonder.
